Grant Supports 4-H and FFA Teams

The Mississippi SFI Implementation Committee received a grant to support state FFA and 4-H champions in their national competitions. "We were able to show these youth they had support from the Mississippi forestry community, and we were proud of them," says Committee Coordinator Tom Monaghan. The 4-H team achieved its highest ranking ever, finishing fourth. The SFI Implementation Committee also received about 500 entries when it invited FFA and 4-H forestry programs in the state to submit essays about why SFI is important.
